Frostbite / BA Postal Lge

The Frostbite League or (more correctly) the BA Postal League is shot outdoors at our Barleylands range on a monthly from November to March and is open to all members. Our top archers' scores are submitted and compared with our assigned opponent club (who shoot at their own range).

The round is three dozen arrows shot at 30 meters on an 80cm face using 10 zone scoring. The rounds have to be shot outside (it is a Frostbite league after all😉).

Individual badges are awarded to recognise personal milestone scores from 150 points upwards.

Dates to be confirmed month by month via email. Please register in the clubhouse on arrival and be ready for Assembly 9.45am with the competition starting at 10.00am. Set up will be occurring from 9:15am, we'd appreciate it if a few people could arrive early to help set up the targets.

The Mayflower shoots for the 2024/5 season will be run by Andy Mullender. We shoot together as as a club to determine our club scores. The top scores are compared against the result of the other club(s) who shoot at their own facility to determine who won each fixture.

2024/25 Season

This year we have entered three Recurve (& Barebow) teams and one compound team. We are awaiting announcement of the clubs we will be competing against but we have selected our fixture dates. These are Sunday 17th Nov, Sunday 8th Dec, Sunday 12th Jan, Saturday 15th Feb and Sunday 9th March. All fixtures are at outdoors (!) at Barleylands.

2023/24 Season

Following the club's success of the previous season our teams were placed in much higher divisions (e.g. 'A' Team moved from Division Five to Division One). We also added a second Compound team.

Our own individual Mayflower member scores for the whole 2023-4 season are available in the PDF files below - by month and the overall cumulative scores and medals. A file showing the final overall league positions is also published. Unsurprisingly, we didn't get any league medals this year 😁 but several club medals have been awarded for individual milestone scores.

2022/23 season

The results finally arrived in July! An excellent season for the club, three of our teams won their divisions and the fourth came second.

The Mayflower Compound Bow team finished 1st in Division Four
The three Mayflower Recurve Bow teams finished 1st in Division Five, 1st in Division 10 and 2nd in Division 12.

Note: Division allocations are set by the BA League at the start of the season based on predicted team scores.
