Indoor Shooting

Winter Indoor Sessions 2024/5

Our outdoor range at Barleylands remains open all year round, but we have made arrangements so that our members can also shoot indoors in winter months.

  • Indoor sessions at Mayflower school.  These sessions start on 16th November and run on most Saturday mornings 9am-12am.  Please check the schedule below.
  • Location:  The Sports Hall, Mayflower High School, Stock Road, Billericay, CM12 0RT.  Use the school entrance on Oakwood Drive and follow the internal road down the left side of the school to the car park.

Mayflower Indoors - Further Details

Indoor Schedule

  • Details and costs for the Mayflower Indoor sessions will be published to our members via email.
  • Please check the Mayflower Calendar for planned events/competitions.
  • Coaching Support (Matt Webb) will normally be available for general shooting sessions - just ask!
  • We will have dedicated target(s) available for junior and novice archers.

Mayflower Indoor Etiquette

  • If possible, please arrive by 8:45am to assist in set up of the hall
  • Sufficient targets will be set up to accommodate the number of archers present at 9am.  If you arrive afterwards and need to set up an extra target, please do this without delaying shooting for other archers.
  • If you arrive after 9am, please stay at the end to assist in clearing away.
  • If you leave before the end of the session, please remove your target face and pins, or check that your target colleague is OK to do this.
  • A Field Captain will be appointed to control shooting using whistle signals.
  • Shooting will be in ends of three arrows.  No more than two details will be permitted.
  • Dedicated target(s) will be set up for Junior and Novice archers at suitable distances and with a larger face.
  • Shooting will end in time to allow the hall to be cleared by 12 O'Clock.
